The Professional series explores concepts of success, accomplishment, and symbols of accolade. As I navigate what it means to be a professional artist as well as a fabricator for other artists, I am constantly confronted by the realities and myths of the contemporary arts economy and my role within it. By leaning into craft and object-making, my hope is to uncover some kind of truth about the ways in which we define our professional lives, and the often flawed ambitions that fuel our desire to reach levels of qualification and competency.
